Elias Westley Batterton, son of Levi Batterton and Dorcas Sackett, was born in Menard County, IllinoisG, on 14 August 1841.1 He died there aged 89 on 16 November 1930.1 He married in Petersburg, Menard CountyG, on 10 February 1864, Sarah Ellen Duncan, daughter of Anderson Duncan and Cynthia A Clopton, and sister of Lucy Duncan who married Elias's brother Thomas.2,1
