Abigail Sackett, daughter of Samuel Sackett and Abigail Blakeslee, was born in North Haven, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 4 September 17821,2 and baptized at St John's, North HavenG, in 1782.2 She died aged 85 in North HavenG on 1 April 1868 and was buried at New Center Cemetery, North HavenG.3,4 She married first in North HavenG on 15 October 1806, Benjamin Dixon, son of John Dixon and Jane Gordon.2 Benjamin was born in Voluntown, New London County, ConnecticutG, on 14 May 1776.5 He died aged 31 in New HavenG on 9 July 1807 and was buried at Grove Street Cemetery, New HavenG.3,6,7 She married second in Wallingford, New Haven CountyG, on 4 June 1809, James Munson, son of Jonathan Munson and Mary Taintor.2,8 James was born on 20 October 1780.9 He died on 9 September 1858 and was buried at New Center Cemetery, North HavenG.3,10,11
Abigail and her father Samuel Sackett were appointed administrators of Benjamin Dixon's estate by the New Haven Court on 20 July 1807, with Elisha Jones, a mariner, standing surety. An inventory valued the estate at $669 with debts of $203.12
In 1850 Abigail was living in North HavenG in the household of her husband James Munson, 69, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Abigail Munson, aged 67 and born in Connecticut. Living with them were their [presumably unmarried] children, George, 40, Olive, 37, Willis, 31, and Louisa, 29, and their married daughter Eunice Cooper, 34. There was also a male pauper in the household.13
In 1860 she was living in North HavenG in the household of her son George, 50, and was recorded as Abigail Munson, aged 78. Her daughter Olive, 45, was also living with them.14
Administration of Abigail's estate was granted to her son George by the New Haven Court on 4 May 1868, with her son-in-law Willis Cooper as surety. Her estate was valued at $2,972 which included several lots of land as well as the home lot, a US Treasury note, and a bank savings account.12
