Hobart Joseph Sackett, butcher, was born in ConnecticutG in May 1860.1 He died before 1920.1 His parents have not been identified. He married Mary A Ryan.1
In 1893 and 1894 Hobart was working as a butcher at 27 Long Wharf, New Haven. His home was at 40 Cedar Hill.2
In 1900 Hobart was living in 1230 State Street, New HavenG, and was recorded in the census as Hobart J Sackett, butcher, head of household, aged 40 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his wife Mary, 37, and their children, Eva, 14, William, 10, Hobart, and Charles, aged five.3 He was living at that address for some years from 1900. From 1902 he was working at 167 Long Wharf.4
In 1910 he was living in New Haven, ConnecticutG, and was recorded as Hobart Sackett, a butcher in a slaughter house, head of household, aged 57 [actually 50] and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his wife Mary, 47, and their children, Eva, 21, William, 19, Hobart Jr, 18, and Charles, 15. Also in the household was Mary's unmarried sister Katherine, 39.5
In 1920 Hobart's widow was living in New HavenG and was recorded in the census as Mary A Sackett, head of household, a widow aged 58 and born in Connecticut. Living with her were her unmarried children, Eve, 28, and Charles, 24.6
