Emma Sackett, daughter of Rev Edward Saunders Sackett and Maria Gaskell, was born in Norwich, NorfolkG, in 1847.1 She died aged about 38 in Roundhay, Leeds, YorkshireG, in 1885.2 She married in Kirkstall, YorkshireG, in 1868, Thomas Henry Vickers.3 Thomas was born in Selby, YorkshireG, on 8 January 1843.2
In 1851 Emma was living at 3 St James Square, St John's, Margate, KentG, in the household of her grandparents, George and Ann Gaskell, and was recorded in the census as Emma Sackett, aged three and born in Norwich, Norfolk.4
In 1871 she was living at Leeds Road, Potter Newton, Leeds, YorkshireG, in the household of her husband Thomas, 26, an oil merchant and dry salter, and was recorded as Emma Vickers, aged 23 and born in Norwich. Living with them were their children, Henry, 2, and Margaret, aged one month. Also in the household were two female servants: a general domestic servant and a nurse.5
In 1891 she was living at Park Villas, Park Road, Rounday, YorkshireG, in the household of her husband Thomas, 46, an oil merchant, and was recorded as Emma Vickers, aged 43 and born in Norwich. Living with them were their children, Henry, 22, Margaret, 20, Emma, 18, Edward, 16, and Olive, aged 13. Also in the household was a female domestic servant.6
In 1911 she was living at 14a Preston Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea, EssexG, in the household of her widowed son Henry, and was recorded as Emma Vickers, a widow, aged 64 and born in Norwich.7
