Henry Eustace Vickers, son of Thomas Henry Vickers and Emma Sackett, was born in Leeds, YorkshireG, in 1869.1,2 He died aged 82 in MiddlesexG in 1951.3 He married first at St Pancras Parish Church, LondonG, on 25 April 1898, Lily Frances Porter, daughter of James Meads Porter.4 Lily was born in Highgate, MiddlesexG, in about 1875.5,6 He married second at St Olave Hart Street, LondonG, on 21 May 1913, Lilian Violet Booth, daughter of Thomas Albert Booth.7 Lilian was born in about 1888.5
In 1871 Henry was living at Leeds Road, Potter Newton, LeedsG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Emma, and was recorded in the census as Henry E Vickers, aged two and born in Leeds.8
In 1891 he was living at Park Villas, Park Road, Rounday, YorkshireG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Emma, and was recorded as Henry E Vickers, an oil merchant's traveller, single, aged 22 and born in Leeds.9
In 1901 he was living at 27 Adamson Road, Hampstead, LondonG, in the household of Edward Sodcole, 65, a saddle & harness maker, and was recorded as Henry E Vickers, a newspaper manager, an employer, married, aged 32 and born in Leeds. Living with him was his wife Lily, 24.10
In 1911 he was living at 14a Preston Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea, EssexG, and was recorded as Henry Eustace Vickers, a newspaper manager, an employer, head of household, a widower, aged 42 and born in Leeds. Living with him were his widowed mother Emma, 64, and his unmarried sister Olive, 32. Also in the household was a female general domestic servant.11
