Russell Rhoads Sackett, son of Winfield Scott Sackett and Sarah Pharmer "Sally" Abram, was born in Frankford, Philadelphia County, PennsylvaniaG, on 16 April 18772 and baptized at St Mark's Episcopal Church, FrankfordG, on 24 February 1878.2 He died aged 74 at home at 4316 Higbee Street, Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaG, on 10 March 1952 and was buried at Oakland Cemetery, PhiladelphiaG, on 13 March 1952.3 He married in PhiladelphiaG in 1899, Lillian May Wilson.4 Lillian was born in PennsylvaniaG on 21 September 1878.5 She died aged 79 at home at 9239 Academy Road, PhiladelphiaG, on 6 June 1958 and was buried at Oakland Cemetery, PhiladelphiaG, on 10 June 1958.6
In 1880 Russell was living in Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Winfield and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as Russell R Sackett, aged three and born in Pennsylvania.7
In 1900 he was living at Bellmore Avenue, PhiladelphiaG, and was recorded as Russell Sackett, an insurance agent, head of household, aged 23. He rented his home. Living with him was his wife Lillian, 21.8
Russell was listed in the Philadelphia City Directories of 1902 and 1916 as an insurance agent.9
In 1910 he was living at Oxford Pike, Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaG, and was recorded as Russell Sacket, an insurance agent, head of household, aged 33. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Lillian, 32, and their children, Mildred, 5, Russell Jr, 3, and Virginia, aged one. The family were living next door to Russell's parents Winfield and Sarah.10
Russell completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was aged 41 and was living at 4608 Paul Street, Frankford, Philadelphia County, PennsylvaniaG, with his wife Lillian. He was a salesman at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.11
In 1920 he was living at Paul Street, PhiladelphiaG, and was recorded as Russell Sackett, an insurance agent, head of household, aged 42. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Lillian, 41, and their children, Mildred, 14, Russell, 12, and Virginia, aged ten.12
In 1930 he was living in PhiladelphiaG and was recorded as Russell R Sackett, a life insurance salesman, head of household, aged 52. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Lillian, 51, their unmarried daughter Virginia, 21, and their son Russell, 23, with his wife Gladys, 22.13
