Alan Edward Sackett, son of Alfred Sackett and Fanny Skelton, was born in Croydon, SurreyG, on 20 July 19121,2 and baptized at St Mary's Church, Sanderstead, SurreyG, on 20 October 1912.3 He married in Wallington, SurreyG, in 1939, Katherina Leopoldine Lippert.4,5,6,7
In 1921 Alan was living at 83 Grant Road, Croydon, SurreyG, in the household of his parents Alfred and Fanny, and was recorded in the census as Alan Sackett, aged eight and born in Croydon.8
At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Alan was a commercial traveller, living at 49 Longlands Avenue, Carshalton, SurreyG. A redacted name in the record was presumably that of his wife Katherina.9
Alan and his mother Fanny proved Alan's father Alfred's will on 15 February 1950. His estate was valued at £1,599.10
