Charles Sackett, son of Ezekiel Sackett and Elizabeth Woodward, was born in Jersey, Steuben County, New York StateG, on 10 September 1809. He died aged 50 in Redford, Wayne County, MichiganG, on 14 March 1860 and was buried at Bell Branch Cemetery, RedfordG.1 He married in New York StateG in about 1828, Eliza Ann DeGraw. She was born in New York StateG on 28 December 1808. She died in RedfordG on 1 October 1895 and was buried at Bell Branch CemeteryG.
     Charles was listed in the 1830 census as a householder in Jersey, Steuben CountyG.2 In 1840 he was a householder in Redford, MichiganG.3
     In 1850 Charles was living in Redford, MichiganG, and was recorded in the census as Charles Sackett, a farmer, aged 40 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Eliza Ann, 41, and their children, Emily, 20, Betsey, 17, Ezekiel, 14, Diantha, 12, Martin, 10, Lucinda, 8, Eveline, 6, William, 4, and Rachel, aged three.4
     In 1880 Charles's widow Eliza was living in Detroit, MichiganG, in the household of her son Ezekiel and daughter-in-law Ines, and was recorded in the census as Eliza Sachit, aged 72 and born in New York.5
