Gertrude Sackett, daughter of Lieutenant Charles Duncan Sackett and Mary Ann Gordon, was born in IllinoisG in October 1873.2,3 She died aged about 37 in Greenfield, Adair County, IowaG, in 1911 and was buried at Greenfield CemeteryG.4 She married in Adair County, IowaG, on 11 April 1896, Warren Merritt Head.5 Warren was born in IowaG in August 1872.3
     In 1880 Gertrude was living in Grove, Adair County, IowaG, in the household of her parents Charles and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Gertrude Sackett, aged six and born in Illinois.1
     In 1900 she was living in Greenfield, Adair County, IowaG, in the household of her husband Warren, 27, a farmer, and was recorded as Gertrude Head, aged 26. Living with them were their children, William, 3, Lyle, 2, and Elmer, aged eleven months.6
     In 1910 she was living at Walnut Street, Greenfield, Adair County, IowaG, in the household of her husband Warren, 37, a laborer, and was recorded as Gertrude Head, aged 36. Living with them were their children, William, 13, Lyle, 11, Elmer, 10, Lola, 9, and Bernice, aged seven.7
