Samuel Sackett, son of Thomas Sackett and Catherine Chambers, was born in Butler County, OhioG, in 1815.2 He died aged about 76 in Ten Mile Community, Macon County, MissouriG, on 14 August 18912 and was buried in the Ten Mile Cemetery, Macon CountyG.2 He married first in Sangamon County, IllinoisG, on 23 March 1837, Irene/Syrena Caroline Goodman.3 She died in Sangamon CountyG on 13 January 1841.4 He married second in Sangamon CountyG on 5 February 1843, Margarite Campbell.5 She was born in OhioG in 18242 and died aged 70 in Ten Mile CommunityG on 4 April 1894.
In 1880 Samuel was living in Ten-Mile, Macon CountyG, and was recorded in the census as Samuel Sackett, a farmer, head of household, married, aged 65 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his wife, Margret, aged 55 and also born in Ohio, their children, Henry (24), Lewis (17), and Hatty (20), and their nine-year-old granddaughter, Emma Casen.6
Samuel made his will in Ten Mile Township, Macon County, MissouriG, on 25 June 1890, naming as beneficiaries his wife Margarite, his sons Enos, John, Reuben, Winfield, Henry, Thomas and Lewis, and his daughters Syrena, Leah and Harriet.7
