Catherine Sackett, daughter of Elijah Gibson Sackett and Malinda Lee, was born in OhioG about 1847.1,2 She married in October 1869, John Burroughs.2,1
     In 1850 Catherine was living in Berlin, Delaware County, OhioG, in the household of her parents Elijah and Malinda, and was recorded in the census as Catharine Sackett, aged three and born in Ohio.3
     In 1860 she was living in Bloomington, McLean County, IllinoisG, in the household of her parents Elijah and Malinda, and was recorded as Cathirine Sackett, aged 13.4
     In 1870 she was living in Cheney Grove, McLean County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as Catherine Burroughs, aged 23. She was living with her husband John E Burroughs, a laborer, 23, who she had married the previous October. Also in the household were her sister Josephine with her husband Martin Hayward and their children, Charles and Katy, and Catherine's unmarried sister Lydia. They were living next door to the sisters' parents Elijah and Malinda.5
