Josephine Sackett, daughter of Elijah Gibson Sackett and Malinda Lee, was born in OhioG in about 1836.1,2 She married Martin Hayward.2
In 1850 Josephine was living in Berlin, Delaware County, OhioG, in the household of her parents Elijah and Malinda, and was recorded in the census as Josephine Sackett, aged 13 and born in Ohio.3
In 1860 she was living in Bloomington, McLean County, IllinoisG, in the household of her parents Elijah and Malinda, and was recorded as Josephine Sackett, aged 23.4
In 1870 she was living in Cheney Grove, McLean County, IllinoisG, in the household of her sister Catherine and brother-in-law John Burroughs, and was recorded as Josephine Hayward, aged 33. She was living with her husband Martin Hayward, 40, a laborer, and their children, Charles, 7, and Katy, aged four. Her parents Elijah and Malinda were living next door.5
