John Sackett Swinford, son of John Swinford and Ann Sackett, was born in Margate, KentG, in 18161 and baptized at St John in ThanetG on 13 April 1816.1
     John was named as a beneficiary in his grandfather John Sackett's will made in St John in ThanetG on 21 July 1831. He was left a sum of £100, held in trust until age 21.2
     John was named as a beneficiary in his grandmother Ann Hooper's will made in Margate, KentG, on 2 April 1840. He was left £10 "placed in a tin box in my drawer as a token of my estimation of his affection and attention towards me."3
     John was named as a beneficiary in his aunt Mary Sackett's will made in St John in Thanet, KentG, on 14 August 1855. John and his brother Daniel were the main beneficiaries. They were each to inherit a half-share of the residue of the substantial estate (the value of the personalty alone was nearly £5,000) after specified bequests to their other brothers and sister.4
