Mary J Sackett, daughter of Judge Russell Sacket and Mary J Hovey, was born in New York StateG in November 1836.1 She married in about 1860, James A Hopkins, son of Timothy A Hopkins and Hannah Williams.1
     In 1852 Mary was living at San Francisco County, CaliforniaG, in the household of her parents Russell and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Mary J Sackett, aged 16 and born in New York.2
     In 1907 James and Mary were living at 69 Chester Avenue, Buffalo, New York StateG.3
