Ivy Dorothea "Dorie" Sutton, daughter of Wilsie John Sutton and Elizabeth Hannah Jones, was born in Nantyglo, MonmouthshireG, on 20 September 1908.1 She died aged 90 in Monmouth, MonmouthshireG, on 13 November 1998.2,3 She married in Crickhowell, BreconshireG, in 1928, Alfred Donald Evans, son of John Evans and Clara ___.4
     In 1911 Dorie was living at 29 Garn Road, Nantyglo, MonmouthshireG, in the household of her parents Wilsie and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Ivy Dorothea Sutton, aged two and born in Nantyglo.5
     Dorie attended Garnvach Infants School, NantygloG, from 26 August 1912 to 30 August 1915.6
     In 1921 she was living at 39 Garn Road, NantygloG, in the household of her parents Wilsie and Elizabeth, and was recorded as Ivy Dorothea Sutton, aged twelve.7
     Ivy Dorothea and Alfred, then at 2 Gwalia Buildings, King Street, BrynmawrG, were listed on the register of electors in 1931.8
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Dorie was living at 2 Gwalia Buildings, NantygloG, in her parents' household. Her children, Brenys and Mair, were living with her.9
