Mary H Sackett, daughter of Isaac Sackett and Polly Hammond, was born in New York StateG on 30 October 1800.1,2 She died aged 87 in Colchester, Chittenden County, VermontG, on 2 February 18881,3 and was buried at Colchester Village CemeteryG.4 She married Thomas Brownell.1
In 1850 Mary was living in Colchester, Chittendon, VermontG, in the household of her husband Thomas, 62, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Mary H Brownell, aged 49 and born in New York. Living with them were their children, Stanton, 15, George, 8, Julia, 7, and Henry, aged three.5
Mary was named as a beneficiary in her father's will made in Colchester, Chittenden County, VermontG, on 14 May 1851. She was to share equally with her four siblings the residue of the estate after allowing for their mother's lifetime interest in the homestead and the payment to her of an annuity of $50.6
In 1860 she was living in ColchesterG in the household of her husband Thomas Brownwell, 72, a farmer, and was recorded as Mary Brownwell, aged 59. Living with them were their children, Thomas, 25, George, 19, Julia, 17, and Henry, aged 14. Also in the household was Mary's stepmother Silence Sackett, aged 90.7
In 1870 she was living in ColchesterG in the household of her son Thomas and daughter-in-law Angie, and was recorded as Mary H Brownell, aged 69.8
