Thomas Staunton Brownell, son of Thomas Brownell and Mary H Sackett, was born in VermontG in about 1835.1 He married in Bradford, Orange County, VermontG, on 2 February 1864, Angie L Baldwin, daughter of Hon. George P Baldwin.2 Angie was born in VermontG in about 1842.1
     In 1850 Thomas was living in Colchester, Chittendon, VermontG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Stanton T Brownell, aged 15 and born in Vermont.3
     In 1860 he was living in ColchesterG in the household of his parents Thomas and Mary, and was recorded as Thomas S Brownwell, a farm laborer, aged 25.4
     In 1870 he was living in ColchesterG and was recorded as Thomas S Brownell, a farmer, aged 35. Living with him were his wife Angie, 28, their daughter Lottie, aged four, and Thomas's mother Mary, 69.5
