Rev Lester M Sackett, Methodist minister, son of Lieutenant Martin Sacket and Miriam Bancroft, was born in Plymouth, Chenango County, New York StateG, on 29 November 1822.1,2 He died aged 37 in Chenango CountyG on 17 October 18601 and was buried at South Plymouth Cemetery, Chenango CountyG.3 He married in January 1854, Calphurnia Lucinda Garrett, daughter of Ulricus Garrett and Lucinda Murdock.1 Calphurnia was born in Madison County, New York StateG, on 13 September 1834.4,5 After Lester's death, Calphurnia married second, Elijah Buell, in 1871, and third, Charles W Dain, in 1902. She died aged 80 in Norwich, Chenango CountyG, on 22 July 1915.5,6
In 1850 Lester was living in Hebron, McHenry County, IllinoisG, in the household of his sister Diana and brother-in-law William Tower, and was recorded in the census as Lester Sacket, a farmer, aged 27 and born in New York.7
In 1855 he was living in PlymouthG and was recorded as Lester Sackett, a farmer, aged 32. His wife Calphurnia, 21, was living with him.8
In 1860 he was living in North Norwich, Chenango CountyG, and was recorded as Lester M Sackett, a Methodist Episcopal clergyman, aged 37. His wife Calphurnia, 26, was living with him. There was also a six-year-old girl, Harriett Potter, in the household.9
Lester made his will in North Norwich, Chenango CountyG, on 9 October 1860. He left the use of his estate to his wife Calphurnia during her widowhood, the residue of estate thereafter to go to the Methodist Episcopal Church. The will was proved on 27 November 1860.

1109. Rev. Lester M. Sackett, 1822–1860, of Chenango, N. Y., son of (500) Lieut. Martin and Miriam Bancroft Sackett, was married in January 1854 to Calphurena Garrett. They had no children. Mr. Sackett was a Methodist minister and at the time of his death a member of the Oneida Conference.
Norwich [Chenango Co., NY]: Mrs. Calphurnia Dain, widow of Charles W. Dain, passed away July 22 at her home on Guernsey street, aged 81. She was the daughter of Ulricus and Lucinda Murdock Garrett, in their day well known residents of Plymouth, and was born September 13, 1837 [sic: probably 1834]. About the year 1854 deceased married Rev. Lester Sackett, a Methodist minister, who served as pastor of several charges in this vicinity and was with the church in Kings Settlement at the time of his death in 1860. Eleven years later, in 1871, Mrs. Sackett married Elijah Buell, of Kings Settlement. They later took up their residence in Norwich, living on North Broad street at the time of Mr. Buell's death, in 1897. December 18, 1902, his widow married her third husband, Charles W. Dain, who died 1913.
