James Sacket, son of William Sacket and Lydia Weller, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 15 September 17741,2,3 and baptized at the Church of Christ, WestfieldG, on 18 September 1774.4 He died aged 69 in Westfield, Hampden CountyG, on 2 January 18445 and was buried at the Old Burying Ground, WestfieldG.6 He married first at the First Church, WestfieldG, on 10 June 1804, Nancy Holcomb.3,7,8,9 She died aged 59 on 31 August 183410 and was buried at the Old Burying Ground, WestfieldG.6 James possibly married second in Enfield, Hartford County, ConnecticutG, on 31 December 1834, Sophia (___) Hale.11,12
     James was named in his father's will made in WestfieldG on 24 January 1797. He was to inherit an equal share of the estate with his five brothers after specific bequests of lands to their two sisters. James was also appointed executor of the will and probate was granted to him on 2 March 1802.13
     James was listed in the census in 1820, 1830, and 1840 as a householder in WestfieldG.14,15,16
