Jonathan Sackett, son of William Sackett and Anna Lawrence, was born in Newtown, Long Island, Queens County, New York StateG, on 22 September 17611 and baptized at the Presbyterian Church, NewtownG, on 22 November 1761.2 He died aged 87 in Milford, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 12 May 1849.3,4,5 He married Sarah Banks, daughter of Jacob Banks.1
     Jonathan served in the American Revolutionary War.
     In 1790 Jonathan was living in Newtown, Queens County, New York StateG. In his household were one man, one boy, and three females. He also owned two slaves.6
     Jonathan was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Newtown, Long IslandG, on 7 June 1798.7
     Jonathan was recorded in the census in 1800 and 1810 living in NewtownG.8,9
     He was assessed for tax on real estate valued at $1,800 in NewtownG in 1803.10
     By 1820, Jonathan and Sarah had moved from Newtown to Milford, Connecticut11 and were living there in 1830.12
