Jonathan Sackett, son of William Sackett and Anne Lawrence, was born in Newtown, Long Island, Queens County, New York StateG, on 22 September 1761.1 He died aged 87 in Milford, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 12 May 1849.2,3,4 He married Sarah Banks, daughter of Jacob Banks.1
     Jonathan served in the American Revolutionary War.
     In 1790 Jonathan was living in Newtown, Queens County, New York StateG. In his household were one man, one boy, and three females. He also owned two slaves.5
     He was recorded in the 1800 census, living in Newtown, Long IslandG.6
     Jonathan was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in 1802.7
     Jonathan was assessed for tax on real estate valued at $7,800 in Newtown, Long IslandG, in 1803.8
     He was listed in the 1810 census living at Newtown, Queens CountyG. The household comprised 3 white males under 10, 2 white males 16-25, 1 white male 45+, 1 white female under 10, 1 white female 10-15, 1 white female 16-25, 1 white female 26-44, 3 other free persons, 2 slaves, a total of 15 persons.9
     By 1820, Jonathan and Sarah had moved from Newtown to Milford, Connecticut. He was recorded in Milford in the 1820 census in a household comprising one male 45+ and one female 45+. He was engaged in agriculture.10
     In 1830 he and Sarah were living in MilfordG, his household comprising one male, 60–70, and one female, 60–70.11
