Edward Sackett, son of Henry Sackett and Elizabeth Clifford, was born in Margate, KentG, on 22 January 17531 and baptized at St John the Baptist, ThanetG, on 2 February 1753.1 He died aged 912,3 and was buried at St Peter in ThanetG on 16 November 1844.3
     In 1841 Edward was living at Northwood, St Peter's, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Edward Sackett, aged 88 and born in Kent. He was listed as "poor", indicating that he was receiving support from the parish. Living with him was Ann Robson Darby, aged 40, who was perhaps a descendant of Edward's sister Ann who had married William Darby.4
