Jackson Sackett, farmer of Wolcott, Lamoille County, Vermont, son of Edward Sackett and Nancy Sloan, was born in Milton, Chittenden County, VermontG, about 1852.1,2 He married in WolcottG on 31 October 1874, Sarah A Russ, daughter of Harvey Russ and Hannah Sparks.3 Sarah was born in Craftsbury, Orleans County, VermontG, about 1851.1 They divorced before 1910.4
     In 1870 Jackson was living in MiltonG in the household of his mother Nancy, and was recorded in the census as Jackson Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 17 and born in Vermont.5
     In 1910 he was living in Westford, Middlesex County, MassachusettsG, and was recorded as Jackson, section man on the railroad, aged 56, divorced. He was living in a boarding house.6

Charles Alexander Sackett, son of Emma Harp, was born in Woodington, Darke County, OhioG, on 11 February 1900.1 He died aged 68 in Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Darke County, OhioG, on 18 April 1968.2,3 He married about 1923, Mildred L Routson. Mildred was born in OhioG in 1904.4,5 She died aged about 71 in 1975 and was buried at Greenville Union CemeteryG.6
     In 1900 Charles was living at Montgomery Street, GreenvilleG, and was recorded in the census as Charles Sacket, aged three months and born in Ohio. He was living with his mother Emma Harp, a servant in the household of Martha Bowman, 64, a widow, a boarding house keeper.7
     In 1910 he was living in GreenvilleG and was recorded as Charles Sackett, aged ten. He was living with his mother Emma in the household of Emma's mother Susan Harp.8
     Charles was listed in the Greenville High School Yearbook in the freshman class in 1915.9
     Charles served in the US Navy during the First World War, enlisting on 12 May 1917 and continuing in the service until discharge on 23 July 1920 in the rank of Quartermaster.10
     In 1920, Charles was serving on the USS Undaunted in San Pedro, California. He was listed in the census as Chas A Sackett, a quartermaster first class, aged 20, single, and his home address was 129 E Elm St, Bradford, Ohio.11
     In 1930 he was living at East Main Street, GreenvilleG, and was recorded as Chas Sackett, a truck driver, head of household, aged 30. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Mildred, 28, and their children, Chas, 5, Robert, 3, and Mary, aged one.12
     Charles was listed in the Greenville City Directory from 1939 to 1953 as the chief operator of the city sewage plant.13

Charles A. Sackett, 84, of Greenville, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Brethren Retirement Community. Mr. Sackett was born in Greenville, on November 12, 1924, the son of the late Charles A. and Mildred L. (Routson) Sackett. Charles was a former 57 year resident on Wildcat Road, Greenville. For the last year and a half he was a resident at Chestnut Village. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pitsburg. Charles was a retired Farmer and retired Metal Finisher for Hobart Brothers, Troy and Union City Body Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. Charles was preceded in death by his infant daughter Tamara Sue Sackett, son Rick Sackett, Brother Robert Sackett, and Sister Kathryn (Pill) Powell. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Weaver) Sackett, whom he married September 11, 1943; daughter Charlotte Calandrelli and husband Terry of Arcanum; grandchildren Terry Sackett of Pitsburg, Brett Sackett and wife Bea of Greenville, and Sarah Calandrelli of Arcanum; Great Grandchildren Jade Hayes, Natasha Mader, Darian Sackett and Mason Sackett; sister Mary Lou Marker and husband Dale of Greenville; brother Bill Sackett Okeana, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pitsburg with Rev Joene Herr, Pastor Terry Haworth, and Terry Calandrelli officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM in Greenville Union Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday 5 - 8 PM at the Kreitzer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund.

     Robert served in the US Army during the Second World War, enlisting on 9 April 1945 at Fort Hayes, Columbus, OhioG, and being released on 4 December 1946.11,12

     She was the daughter of Theodore R. and Bertha (Huisinga) Callahan. She married Robert F. Sackett, who preceded her in death.
     Surviving are two sons: Thomas F. (Kathy), Pataskala, and J. David (Paula), Gahanna; a brother, Donald, Houston, TX; a sister, Leonora Emery, Saratoga Springs, NY; five grandchildren: Mark Sackett, Todd Sackett, Holli Rousseau, Jennifer Sackett and Nicole Sackett; and seven great-grandchildren: Braydan Sackett, Ivy Sackett, Merin Sackett, Tyler Sackett, Lauren Sackett, Regan Rousseau and Reed Rousseau.
     She retired in 1986 from the Darke County Health Department and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Greenville.
     A Private Graveside Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Peter Menke officiating.

     Bill was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Darke County to the late Charles A. & Mildred (Routson) Sackett. In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn M. (Haag) Sackett; step-grandson, Chad A. Fisherback; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Lou and Dale Marker and Katherine and Jack Powell; and brothers and sister-in-law Bob and Eleanor Sackett and Charlie Sackett.
     Bill is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Tim & Tammy Sackett of Greenville; step-grandson, Mitchell J. Fisherback; sister-in-law Patricia Sackett of Greenville and numerous nieces and nephews.
     Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in which he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal with “V” Pendant; Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars; Combat Infantry Badge; National Defense Service Medal; United Nations Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Bill retired in 1988 from the City of Hamilton Utility Department after 33 years of service. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, sprint car races and golfing. Bill will be forever remembered for his love of children, animals and handing out $2 bills.
     A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Dr. Fred Bernhard officiating and full military honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. A graveside service at 1 p.m. will follow in College Corner Cemetery, West College Corner, Ind. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Darke County Animal Shelter.
