Marie Sackett, daughter of Thomas Edward Sackett and Mamie Mathews, was born in St Louis, Missouri^G, on 1 July 1912.¹ She died on 30 September 1913 and was buried at St Peter's Cemetery, Normandy, St Louis County^G.¹

Thomas E Sackett, son of Charles Ebenezer Sackett and Susannah Hamilton, was born probably in Carlyle, Clinton County, Illinois^G, on 25 December 1859.^1,2 He died aged 60 at the Robert Koch Hospital, Carondelet, St Louis County, Missouri^G, on 31 January 1920 and was buried at Calvary Cemetery, St Louis^G, on 3 February 1920.⁵ He married in Bond County, Illinois^G, on 25 December 1881, Kathryn Marie "Katie" Royer, daughter of Jacob Royer and Madaline Ditzerberg.^3,4 Kathryn was born in Illinois^G on 28 May 1860.^6,2 She died aged 87 at home at 8501 Jane Avenue, Carsonville, St Louis County, Missouri^G, on 30 November 1947 and was buried at Calvary Cemetery, St Louis^G, on 3 December 1947.⁷
     In 1860 Thomas was living in Carlyle, Clinton County, Illinois^G, in the household of his parents Ebenezer and Susannah, and was recorded in the census as Thomas Sackett, aged two months and born in Illinois.⁸
     In 1870 he was living in Jefferson, Maries County, Missouri^G, in the household of his mother Susannah and stepfather Samuel Givens, and was recorded as Thomas E Sacket, aged ten.⁹
     Thomas was listed in St Louis, Missouri, City Directory in 1891. He was a hostler, living at 219 Victor, St Louis^G. In 1895, he was a collector, and in 1899 a clerk, living at 1825 Franklin Avenue.¹⁰
     In 1900 he was living at Morgan Street, St Louis, Missouri^G, and was recorded as Thos E Sackett, a furniture salesman, head of household, aged 40. Living with him were his wife Katie, 40, and their children, Hattie, 17, Katie, 14, Thomas, 9, Irene, 6, and George, aged one.¹¹
     Thomas was listed in the city directory as a coal merchant in 1903, a teamster in 1908, and a coal merchant from 1909 to 1917. From 1909 he lived at 1021 Call Street, St Louis^G. Thomas's wife Kate, wrongly described as a widow, was listed in 1916 living with her son Thomas at 1105 Glasgow Avenue. In 1917 she was again listed at her son Thomas's address at 2813 Stoddard.¹⁰
     In 1910 Thomas was living at Call Street, St Louis, Missouri^G, and was recorded in the census as Thomas Sackett, a coal and ice merchant, head of household, aged 51. Living with him were his wife Katie, 49, their children, Irene, 16, George, 12, and Willie, 9, their granchildren, Flossie Lisk, 5, and Edward Lisk, aged one, and Katie's widowed mother Madeline Royer, 73. Their son Thomas Sackett was living next door.¹²
     In 1920 Thomas's widow Kathryn was living at Gamble Street, St Louis^G, and was recorded in the census as Katy Sackett, a laundress, head of household, a widow aged 60. Living with her were her son William, 19, her daughter Irene Klevern, 25, and Irene's children, Mildred, 7, Leon, 4, and Alfred, aged one.¹³

     In 1930 she was living at Gano Avenue, St Louis, Missouri^G, and was recorded as Katie Sackett, head of household, a widow, aged 70. Living with her were her son Thomas, 39, Thomas's grandson Edward Watkins aged eight months, and Edward's mother Irene Watkins, 19.¹⁴

George Dewey Sackett, also known as George Leo Sackett, son of Thomas E Sackett and Kathryn Marie "Katie" Royer, was born in St Louis, Missouri^G, on 31 July 1898.¹ He died aged 49 in St Louis City Hospital, St Louis, Missouri^G, on 27 February 1948 and was buried at Calvary Cemetery, St Louis^G, on 1 March 1948.³ He married first about 1919, Margaret ___.² He married second about 1925, Sophie ___.²
     In 1900 George was living at Morgan Street, St Louis, Missouri^G, in the household of his parents Thomas and Katie, and was recorded in the census as Geo Dewey Sackett, aged one and born in Missouri.⁴
     In 1910 George was living at Call Street, St Louis, Missouri^G, in the household of his parents Thomas and Katie, and was recorded in the census as George Sackett, aged twelve.⁵
     George completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was aged 20 and was a laborer employed by W W Mathews. He was living at 2945 Gamble Street, St Louis, Missouri^G, with his mother Katie.⁶
     In 1920 he was living at Easton Avenue, St Louis^G, and was recorded as George Sackett, a washer in a bakery, head of household, aged 21. Living with him were his wife Margaret, 17, and their daughter Helen, aged two months.⁷
     George was listed in the St Louis City Directory in 1929 as a laborer, living at 4014 Glasgow Avenue, St Louis^G.⁸
     In 1930 he was living at 4025 North 25th Street, St Louis, Missouri^G, and was recorded as George L Sackett, confectionary store proprietor, head of household, aged 32. Living with him were his second wife, Sophie, 22, and his daughter Helen, 11, by his first marriage. There was also a male lodger in the household.⁹
     In 1940 he was living at 5130 San Francisco Street, St Louis^G, and was recorded as George Sackett, a window washer at a drug company, head of household, aged 41. His wife Sofie, 32, was living with him.¹⁰
     George completed a World War II young men's draft registration card, probably in 1942. He was living in St Louis^G and was employed by the United Drug Company.¹¹

Charles Ebenezer Sackett was born in Illinois^G about 1830.¹ His parents have not been identified. He died at Fort Heiman, Calloway County, Kentucky^G, on 24 April 1863.² He married in Madison County, Illinois^G, on 25 June 1854, Susannah Hamilton.³ Susannah was born in Illinois^G about 1840.⁴ After Charles's death, Susannah married Samuel Givens in Madison County, Illinois^G, on 1 October 1867.⁴
     In 1860 Charles was living in Carlyle, Clinton County, Illinois^G, and was recorded in the census as E Sackett, a miller, aged 30 and born in Illinois. Living with him were his wife Susannah, 20, and their children, Sarah, 3, and Thomas, aged two months.⁵
     Charles served during the American Civil War as a private in the 111th Regiment, Illinois Infantry. He died in service.⁶
     In 1870 Susannah was living in Jefferson, Maries County, Missouri^G, with her second husband Samuel Givens. Her children, Sarah, 12, Thomas, 10, and Ebenezer, 7, were living with them, together with Samuel's three children by his first marriage, and Samuel and Susannah's two-year-old son John.⁷
