Elijah was listed in the census in 1830 and 1840 as a householder in New Hartford, Oneida County, New York StateG.3,4
In 1850 Elijah was living in Dryden, Lapeer County, MichiganG, and was recorded in the census as Elijah Sacket, a farmer, aged 49 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his wife Julia, 46, and children, Marshall, 19, Laura, 16, Mary, 9, and Julia, aged seven. A son George, 13, was living next door in the household of Phoebe Fellows. It has not been positively ascertained which of these children were of Elijah's first or second marriages.5
