Barton Hill Sackett, son of Edward Barton Sackett and Anna K Hill, was born in Chicago, Cook County, IllinoisG, on 13 December 1882.1,2 He died aged 62 in Elmhurst, DuPage County, IllinoisG, on 24 August 1945.3,4,5 He married in Hennepin County, MinnesotaG, on 19 June 1918, Verna Marion Darke, daughter of George W Darke and Sarah E ___.6 Verna was born in St Paul, Ramsey County, MinnesotaG, on 24 November 1890.7,8 She died aged 80 in Milwaukee County, WisconsinG, on 18 September 1971.9,10
     In 1900 Barton was living at Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents Edward and Anna, and was recorded in the census as Barthon H Sackett, aged 16 and born in Illinois.11
     In 1910 he was living at St Severance Avenue, ChicagoG, in the household of his parents Edward and Anna, and was recorded as Barton H Sackett, assistant manager of a hat company, aged 27.12
     Barton completed a World War I draft registration card on 7 September 1918. He was then aged 35 and was manager of a Selz Schwab & Company chain store. He was living at 6145 Glenwood Avenue, Chicago, IllinoisG, with his wife Verna.13
     In 1920 he was living at Glenwood Avenue, ChicagoG, and was recorded as Barton H Sackett, general manager of a shoe store, head of household, aged 37. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Verna, 27, and their son Barton, aged five months.14
     In 1928 Barton and Verna were living at 405 Woodlawn Avenue, Glencoe, ChicagoG. Barton was the secretary of the Hartman Furniture Company.15
     In 1930 he was living at Woodlawn Road, Glencoe Village, New Trier, Cook County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as Barton H Sackett, secretary of a furniture corporation, head of household, aged 47. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Verna, 37, and their children, Barton H Jr, 10, Gail, 7, and Orville, aged four. There was also a female servant in the household.16
     Barton completed a World War II draft registration card on 27 April 1942. He was aged 59 and was employed at the National Bond and Investment Corporation in Chicago. He was living at 131 Elmwood Terrace, Elmhurst, DuPage County, IllinoisG, with his wife Verna.17
