Thomas Chester Sackett, son of Francis Marion "Frank" Sackett and Emma J "Jennie" Fox, was born in Monticello, Jones County, IowaG, on 22 November 1889.1 He died aged 56 in Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, OklahomaG, on 15 October 1946.2 He married first in Marion, Linn County, IowaG, on 21 February 1911, Emma Pearson, daughter of George Pearson and Almeada Brezz.3 Emma was born in Mount Pleasant, Green County, WisconsinG, on 6 July 1887.6 They divorced sometime before 1930.7 She died aged 50 in Manchester, Delaware County, IowaG, on 7 December 19378,9 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi, Delaware CountyG.10 Thomas married second in Redwood County, MinnesotaG, on 4 January 1932, Irene Dubois Johnson.4,5 Irene was born in Greenfield, Adair County, IowaG, on 27 August 1892.11,2 She died aged 91 in Des Moines, Polk County, IowaG, on 2 May 1984 and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Polk County, IowaG.10,12
     In 1900 Thomas was living in Castle Grove, Jones County, IowaG, in the household of his parents Frank and Jennie, and was recorded in the census as Tommie Sackett, aged ten and born in Iowa.13
     In 1910 he was living at Sherman Street, Monticello, Jones CountyG, in the household of his widowed sister Nettie, and was recorded as Tommy Sackett, a laborer, aged 19.14
     Thomas completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was aged 27 and was a steamfitter at Cross Hardware Company. He was living in MonticelloG with his wife and three children.15
     In 1920 he was living at Angle Street, Lovell, Jones CountyG, and was recorded as Thomas C Sackett, a plumber's laborer, aged 29. Living with him were his wife Emma, 31, and their children, Lawrence, 8, Orville, 7, and Almeda, aged five.16
     In 1925 he was living in MonticelloG and was recorded as Thomas C Sackett, aged 35. Living with him were his wife Emma, 37, and their children, Lawrence, 13, Orville, 12, and Almeada, aged ten. Emma's parents were named on the census return as George Pearson, born in England, and Almeada Brezz, born in Wisconsin.17
     In 1930 Emma, now divorced, was living in Delhi, Delaware County, IowaG. Her children, Lawrence, 18, Orville, 17, and Almeada, 15, were living with her. Also in the household was her brother-in-law Harvey.18
     In 1940 Irene was living at Central Park Place East, St Paul, Ramsey County, MinnesotaG, and was recorded as Irene D Sackett, aged 47, married, a travelling saleslady for a church organisation.19
     Thomas completed a World War II draft registration card on 26 April 1942. He was aged 52 and had his own business, the Commonwealth Feed Company, which he operated from his home at 670 Central Park Place, St PaulG.20

Shawnee—Thomas Chester Sackett, 57, who moved here from Sulphur about a month ago, died Tuesday night in his home. Services had not been completed Wednesday.
     Sackett was a salesman for a milling company at New Richmond, Wis., and had lived at St. Paul, Minn., until about a year ago. Thereafter he lived at Maud and Sulphur. He was a member of the Methodist church at Monticello, Iowa.
     Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene D. Sackett, Shawnee; two sons, Lawrence Sackett, Delhi, Iowa, and Orvil Sackett, Hopkington, Iowa: and one daughter, Almeada Baldwin, Iowa.

Rites Pending for Thomas Sackett
The funeral arrangements for Thomas Chester Sackett are still incomplete. Sackett died Tuesday at his home, 509 North Broadway. He had lived in Shawnee one month.
     The body will be shipped to Earlsville, Iowa, for funeral services and burial.
     Roesch Brothers are in charge of arrangements.

Delhi — Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Sackett, 50, were held Thursday at the Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. W. D. Bostron, pastor. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery. As Emma Pearson, she was born at Mount Pleasant, Wis., June 6, 1887, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pearson. She was married at Cedar Rapids Feb. 1, 1911, to Thomas C. Sackett, who survives with two sons and one daughter, Laurence Sackett of Delhi, Orville Sackett of Manchester and Mrs. Almeada Foss of Forks, Wash; one sister, Mary Townsend of Ainsworth; and two grandsons.

Irene D. Sackett
Irene D. Sackett, 91, of Parkridge Manor, 4755 Parkridge Ave. in Pleasant Hill, died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
     Born in Greenfield, Mrs. Sackett lived in Des Moines many years and was a retired saleswoman for Wallaces Farmer magazine. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.
     Survivors include three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
     Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
