George Nelson

George Nelson, farmer, son of Horace Nelson and Charlotte Sacket, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts^G, on 29 November 1814.^1,2 He died aged 88 in Westfield^G on 2 November 1903 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield^G.² He married Emeline ___. Emeline was born in Massachusetts^G in about 1814.³
     George was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Westfield^G on 10 February 1841 and proved at the Springfield Probate Court on 1 March 1842. He was appointed executor and was left the residue of the estate subject to his mother's lifetime interest in half the estate.⁴
     In 1850 George was living in Westfield^G and was recorded in the census as George Nelson, a farmer, aged 35 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his wife Emeline, 35, their son, Horace G, aged one, and George's mother Charlotte, 64.⁵
     In 1870 he was living in Westfield^G and was recorded as George Nelson, a farmer, aged 55. Living with him were his wife Emeline, 55, their sons, Horace, 21, and Henry, 17, and George's mother Charlotte, aged 85.⁶
