George Washington Sackett, son of Freeman Sackett and Elenora Perselia Noble, was born in MassachusettsG on 4 April 1841.1 He married in Detroit, Wayne County, MichiganG, on 13 August 1867, Mary Ann Wade.2
In 1850 George was living in Pittsfield, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, in the household of his parents Freeman and Elnora, and was recorded in the census as George Sacket, aged eight and born in Massachusetts.3
In 1880 he was living in Dexter, Washtenaw County, MichiganG, and was recorded as George Sackett, a carpenter, head of household, aged 38. Living with him were his wife Mary, 38, and their children, Rhoda, 13, Minnie, 10, William, 8, Myrtie, 4, and John, aged two.4
In 1900 he was living at 4th Street, Scio, Washtenaw CountyG, and was recorded as George Sackett, a carpenter, head of household, aged 59. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Mary Ann, 58, and their children, William, 26, John, 22, Warren, 19, and Cora, aged 16. Also in the household was 6-year-old Melvin Sackett, listed as a son but actually their grandson, the son of their daughter Myrtle.5
