Daniel Henry Sackett, son of Daniel L Sackett and Ann Jane Hanna, was born in Scio, Washtenaw County, MichiganG, on 12 August 1879.1,2 He died aged 71 in Eloise, Wayne County, MichiganG, on 9 October 19503 and was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, DexterG.4 He married in Gladwin, MichiganG, on 10 April 1914, Mary Blanche Vannest, daughter of Turner Vannest and Emma Busch.5 Mary was born in GladwinG on 5 May 1898.6 She died aged 96 in MichiganG in June 1994 and was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, DexterG.6
In 1880 Daniel was living in DexterG in the household of his parents Daniel and Ann, and was recorded in the census as Daniel H Sackett, aged ten months and born in Michigan.7
In 1900 he was living at Yerkes Avenue, Northville, Wayne CountyG, in the household of Harry Hanna, and was recorded as Daniel Sackett, a factory machine hand, aged 20.8
Daniel completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was aged 39 and was a munition worker. He was living at 162 First Street, Detroit, Wayne CountyG, with his wife Mary.9
In 1920 he was living at 162 First Street, DetroitG, and was recorded as Daniel Sackett, a factory worker, head of household, aged 41. Living with him were his wife Mary, 22, and their children, Lorraine, 4, Eleanor, 3, and Bernice, aged one. There was also a male lodger in the household.10
In 1930 he was living at First Street, DetroitG, and was recorded as Daniel H Sackett, a punch press operator in an auto factory, head of household, aged 50. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Mary, 33, and their children, Lorraine, 15, Eleanor, 13, Bessnic [Bernice], 11, Irene, 8, Virginia, 7, Elva, 4, Louis, 2, and James, aged six months.11
Daniel was listed in the Detroit City Directory in 1928 and 1932. His widow Mary was listed in the East Detroit City Directory in 1954.12,13

Also leaves 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren. Services 1 p.m. Thursday at Ford Funeral Home 26560 Van Dyke. Visitation Wednesday 3-9 p.m. Cremains will be interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dexter, Michigan near her late husband Daniel and son, Robert.
