Carrie Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of Cassius A Sackett and Hannah ___, was born in New York StateG on 30 October 1858.1,2 She died aged 93 in Middletown, Middlesex County, ConnecticutG, on 11 March 19523 and was buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Chester, Middlesex CountyG.6 She married in ChesterG on 18 May 1881, Edson J Abbey, son of George M Abbey and Lois A Brooks.4,5 Edson was born on 10 November 1859 and died aged 40 on 21 November 1899.2
In 1860 Carrie was living in Unadillo, Otsego County, New York StateG, in the household of her parents Cassius and Hannah, and was recorded in the census as Carry Sackett, aged two and born in New York.7
In 1870 she was living in New Milford, Susquehanna County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of her parents Cassius and Hannah, and was recorded as Carrie Sackett, at school, aged twelve.8
In 1880 she was living in Chester, Middlesex County, ConnecticutG, in the household of her father Cassius and stepmother Lottie, and was recorded as Carrie Sackett, a worker in a bright iron wire shop, aged 21.9
In 1900 she was living at Sherman Avenue, Jersey City, Hudson County, New JerseyG, and was recorded as Carrie E Abbey, a dentist, head of household, a widow. Living with her were her children, Clifford, 17, and Lois, aged eight.10
In 1910 she was living at Pleasant Street, Chester, Middlesex County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded as Carrie Abbey, a nurse to private families, head of household, aged 51, a widow. She rented her home. Her daughter Lois, 18, was living with her.11
In 1930 she was living at Milbrook Street, Essex, Middlesex County, ConnecticutG, in the household of her daughter Lois and son-in-law Robert Markham, and was recorded as Carrie E Abbey, a widow, aged 71.12
