Clarissa "Clara" Sackett, daughter of John Dempster Sackett and Clarissa Searl, was born in Norwich, New London County, ConnecticutG, on 11 February 1847.1 She died aged 77 in the Odd Fellows Home, Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, IowaG, on 12 January 19252,3 and was buried at Elmwood St Joseph Cemetery, Mason CityG.4 She married in about 1868, Rev Otis S Davis, son of Thomas Davis and Martha Wilder Stearns.5 Otis was born in VermontG on 9 August 1845.4,5 He died aged 83 on 12 September 1928 and was buried at Elmwood St Joseph Cemetery, Mason CityG.4
     In 1855 Clarissa was living in Mexico, Oswego County, New York StateG, in the household of her father John and stepmother Sylvia, and was recorded in the census as Clarissa M Sackett, aged eight and born in Massachusetts.6
     In 1860 she was living in Boston, Ionia County, MichiganG, in the household of her father John and stepmother Sylvia, and was recorded as Clarissa Sackett, aged 13 and born in Connecticut.7
     In 1870 she was living in Linn Township, Walworth County, WisconsinG, in the household of her husband Otis, 25, a farmer, and was recorded as Clara Davis, aged 22 and born in Michigan.8
     In 1880 she was living in Rush, Jo Daviess County, IllinoisG, in the household of her husband Otis, 33, a minister, and was recorded as Clarria Davis, aged 32. Living with them were their children, Thomas, 9, and Lewis, aged five.9
     In 1893, Clara inherited $1,225 from the estate of her father John after reaching a settlement with John's widow Lucinda, administrator of his estate and his third wife, who inherited a majority of the assets.10
     In 1900 she was living in Little Grant Township, Grant County, WisconsinG, in the household of her husband Otis, 54, a minister, and was recorded as Clara A Davis, aged 53 and born in Connecticut. Living with them was their daughter Mary, aged 15.11
     In 1910 she was living in Pleasant, Hardin County, IowaG, in the household of her husband Otis, 64, a preacher, and was recorded as Clara Davis, aged 63.12
