James Calvin Sackett, son of James K Sackett and Elizabeth R Robinson, was born in Batavia, Branch County, MichiganG, on 31 May 1868.1,2,3 He married in Tekamah, Burt County, NebraskaG, on 14 July 1896, Anna Eliza Harris, daughter of Edgar V Harris and Adda L Hayes.4 Anna was born in Afton, Union County, IowaG, on 26 August 18764 and died aged 91 in Washington County, NebraskaG, in November 1967.5
In 1870 James was living in Batavia, Branch County, MichiganG, in the household of his parents James and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Calvin J Sackett, aged two and born in Michigan.6
In 1880 he was living in BataviaG in the household of his parents James and Elizabeth, and was recorded as James C Sackett, at school, aged twelve.7
In 1900 he was living in Summit, Burt County, NebraskaG, and was recorded as Cal J Sacket, a farm laborer, head of household, aged 32. Living with him was his wife Anna, 23. There was also a male boarder in the household.8
In 1910 he was living in Arizona, Burt County, NebraskaG, and was recorded as James C Sackett, a farm laborer, head of household, aged 37 [actually 41]. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Anna, 33, and their children, Leander, 12, Mervin, 8, Calvin, 6, Adelaide, 4, and Ned, aged two.9
In 1920 he was living in Arizona, Burt County, NebraskaG, and was recorded as Calvin Sackett, a day laborer, head of household, aged 52. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Anna, 43, and their children, Mervin, 19, Calvin, 17, Adelaide, 14, Ned, 11, Fae Louise, 7, Thad, 5, and Paul, aged two.10
In 1930 he was living in Tekamah, Burt County, NebraskaG, and was recorded as James C Sackett, a laborer, head of household, aged 58. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Anna, 53, and their children, Paul, 12, and Dorothy, aged nine.11
In 1940 he was living in Tekamah, Burt County, NebraskaG, and was recorded as Calvin Sackett, head of household, aged 71. Living with him were his wife Anna, 63, and their unmarried son Mervin, 39.12
