George L Sackett, son of Lee Sackett and Lucy May Havens, was born in Somerset Township, Hillsdale County, MichiganG, on 9 June 1914.1 He died aged 73 at his home near Deer Lake, MichiganG, on 12 August 19872 and was buried at Aldrich Cemetery, Jerome, Hillsdale County, MichiganG.3 He married first in Hillsdale, Hillsdale CountyG, on 12 April 1940, Ila Ruth Baker, daughter of Isaac Baker and Mary Prouty.4 Ila was born in Pittsford, Hillsdale CountyG, in about 1912.5 They were divorced on 20 May 1950. He married second in 1950, Lois Gustafson, daughter of Harold Gustafson and Ellen Anderson.6
In 1930 George was living in Somerset, Hillsdale County, MichiganG, in the household of his parents Lee and Lucy, and was recorded in the census as George L Sackett, aged 15 and born in Michigan.7
