Trelawney L Sackett, carpenter and later a farmer, of North Canaan, Connecticut, son of Joseph Sackett and Philena E Root, was born in ConnecticutG on 9 November 1842.1,2,3 He died aged 82 in Great Barrington, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, on 21 December 19244,5 and was buried at Ashley Falls Cemetery, Sheffield, Berkshire CountyG.6 He married first in New Marlborough, Berkshire CountyG, on 17 October 1861, Caroline M Munger, daughter of Curtis Munger and Polly ___.7 Caroline was born in New York StateG in about 1842. He married second before 1868, Bessie M Parsons, daughter of Mary ___. Bessie was born in ConnecticutG in about 1849.2 He married third in SheffieldG on 1 March 1879, Emily E Leffingwell, daughter of William Leffingwell and Matilda ___.8,9 Emily was born on 25 August 1850.10 She died aged 68 in North CanaanG on 25 June 1919 and was buried at Ashley Falls CemeteryG.10,6
     In 1850 Trelawney was living in Norfolk, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Joseph and Philena, and was recorded in the census as Trelawny Sacket, aged six and born in Connecticut.11
     Trelawney served in the US Civil War as a Union soldier in the 37th Regiment, Massachusetts Infantry.12,4
     In 1870 he was living in Norfolk, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded as Trelawney Sacket, a carpenter, aged 28 and born in Connecticut. Living with him was his second wife Bessie, 21, and their son Ethelbert, aged two. Also in the household was Bessie's mother Mary Parsons, 45.13
     In 1880 he was living in North Canaan, Litchfield CountyG, and was recorded as Trenway Sackett, a carpenter, head of household, married, aged 37. Living with him were his wife Emily, 29, and their son William, aged three months.14
     In 1900 he was living in North CanaanG and was recorded as Trelawney Sackett, a carpenter, head of household, aged 57. Living with him were his wife Emily, 49, and their son William, 20. Also in the household was a male boarder.15
     In 1910 he was living at Sodom Road, North CanaanG, and was recorded as Trelawney L Sackett, a self-employed farmer, head of household, aged 67. Living with him was his wife Emily, 59. Their son William and his family were living next door.16
     In 1920 he was living in Canaan, Litchfield CountyG, and was recorded as T L Sackett, a farmer, aged 77. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his son William, 39, daughter-in-law Ruth, 36, and their children, Trelawney, 13, and Marion, aged ten.17
