Edward Cook, son of John Cook and Ann Sackett, was born in Ash next Sandwich, KentG, in 1807 and baptized at St Nicholas, Ash next SandwichG, on 5 April 1807.1
     In 1851 Edward was living in Ash next SandwichG in the household of his widowed mother Ann, and was recorded in the census as Edward Cook, a farmer, single, aged 40.2
