Grace Edith Sackett, daughter of Henry Sackett and Susannah Rea, was born in Orsett, EssexG, in 1856.1 She died aged 75 at 24 Hayes Crescent, Golders Green, MiddlesexG, on 14 February 19322,3 and was buried at St Giles and All Saints Church, OrsettG.4 She married at St Nicholas, WorcesterG, on 18 September 1890, Francis Heatherley, a surgeon, son of Thomas Heatherley and Katherine Elizabeth Emily Weale.5,6,7 Before her marriage Grace was matron of the hospital at Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. Francis was born in Marylebone, MiddlesexG, on 15 June 18618 and baptized at St Andrew, MaryleboneG, on 21 July 1861.9 He died aged 70 in Ashton, LancashireG, on 5 April 1932.3,10
In 1861 Grace was living in Orsett, EssexG, and was recorded in the census as Grace Edith Sackett, aged 5, born in Orsett, the daughter of Susannah Sackett.11
In 1871 she was living at Old Rectory, OrsettG, and was recorded as Grace Edith Sackett, aged 15, a scholar, born in Orsett, the daughter of Henry Sackett.12
In 1881 she was living at the Hospital for the Paralysed and Epileptic, Marylebone, LondonG, and was recorded as Grace E Sackett, lady superintendent, aged 25.13
In 1891 she was living at 17 Grove Terrace, St Pancras, LondonG, in the household of her widowed sister Ellen Eve, 49, and was recorded as Grace E Heatherley, married, aged 35.14
In 1901 she was living at 17 Grove Terrace, St Pancras, LondonG, in the household of her widowed sister Ellen, and was recorded as Grace Edith Heatherley, married, aged 45.15 Francis was living at 2 Sefton Road, Lower Bebington, New Ferry, CheshireG, his household including two domestic servants, a cook and a housemaid.16
In 1911 she was living at 16 Grove Terrace, Highgate Road, St PancrasG, in the household of her widowed sister Fanny, and was recorded as Grace Edith Heatherley, a visitor, married, aged 55 and born in Orsett.17 Her husband Francis, listed as a physician and surgeon, aged 49, was living at 578 New Chester Road, Birkenhead, CheshireG. There was one female domestic servant in his household.18
Grace proved her sister Fanny's will on 22 November 1922. Fanny's estate was valued at £1,711.19
Grace left a will which was proved in London on 6 May 1932 by her daughter Lois and by Herbert John Shelley. Her estate was valued at £1,683.20
Grace's husband Francis left a will which was proved by his daughter Lois on 6 July 1932. His estate was valued at £3,365.21
