Fanny Sackett, daughter of Henry Sackett and Susannah Rea, was born in Orsett, EssexG, in 18541,2 and baptized there on 1 May 1854.3 She died aged 68 at Ashville, Audenshaw, LancashireG, on 20 September 1922.4,5 She married at St Mary's Church, Woodford, EssexG, on 6 December 1884, Henry Matchitt, son of George Hulme Matchitt and Sarah Fisk.6,7 Henry was born on 7 June 1854 and baptized at St Mary's Church, Eccles, LancashireG, on 3 November 1854.8 He died aged 37 in Swatow, ChinaG, on 3 July 1891.4
     In 1861 Fanny was living in OrsettG and was recorded in the census as Fanny Sackett, aged 7, born in Orsett, daughter of Susannah Sackett.9
     In 1871 she was living at the Old Rectory, OrsettG, and was recorded as Fanny Sackett, aged 17, a scholar, born in Orsett, the daughter of Henry Sackett.10
     In 1881 she was living at Chapel Road, OrsettG, in the household of her widowed mother Susannah, and was recorded as Fanny Sackett, unmarried, aged 27 and born in Orsett.11
     In 1881 she was living at Chapel Road, OrsettG, and was recorded as Fanny Sackett, aged 27 and born in Orsett, unmarried daughter of Susannah Sackett.12
     Fanny proved her husband Henry's will on 1 August 1891. His estate was valued at £383.13 Fanny travelled to China shortly after, arriving back in London from Hong Kong aboard the Patroclus on 6 October 1891.14
     In 1901 she was living at 17 Grove Terrace, St Pancras, LondonG, in the household of her widowed sister Ellen, and was recorded as Fanny Matchitt, a widow living on her own means, aged 47 and born in Orsett.15
     In 1911 she was living at 16 Grove Terrace, Highgate Road, St PancrasG, and was recorded as Fanny Matchitt, head of household, a widow, aged 57, living on private means, and born in Orsett. Her married sister Grace Edith Heatherley, 55, was a visitor.16
     Fanny left a will which was proved on 22 November 1922 by her sister Grace. Her estate was valued at £1,711.17
