Henry Preston Sackett, farmer, son of Nathaniel Baldwin Sackett and Olive Agnes Henry, was born in Chautauqua County, New York StateG, on 26 February 1842.1,2 He married in about 1865, Mary Martha Barkley, daughter of Arthur Barkley and Lillie Heindman.3 Mary was born in PennsylvaniaG on 22 February 1847.4,5
In 1880 Henry was living at Cawker, Mitchell County, KansasG, and was recorded in the census as Henry Sackett, keeper of a laundry, head of household, married, aged 33 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Mary, 28, and their children, Edward, 13, Arthur, 10, L May, 6, Frank, 4, and James, aged two.6
In 1900 he was living at Ruby Avenue, Independence, Jackson County, MissouriG, and was recorded as Henry P Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 57. Living with him were his wife Mary, 49, and their children, Roy, 20, George, 15, Leo, 11, and Myrtle, aged eight.7
