Geoffrey Gordon Sackett, son of Frank Gordon Sackett and Alice Harper, was born in Woodford, Essex, EnglandG, on 20 January 19101,2,3 and baptized at St Mary, WoodfordG, on 13 March 1910.4,5 He died aged about 69 in Queensland, AustraliaG, in 1979 and was buried at Allambe Memorial Park, Nerang, Gold Coast City, QueenslandG.8 He married in Tendring, EssexG, in 1935, Margaret Agnes Shorting, daughter of Charles Ernest Nicholas Shorting and Margaret Edith Lilian Partridge.6,7 Margaret was born in Tenbury, WorcestershireG, in 1906.9 She died aged about 81 in QueenslandG in 1987 and was buried at Allambe Memorial Park, NerangG.8
     In 1911 Geoffrey was living at 35 St Albans Road, Woodford Green, EssexG, in the household of his parents Frank and Alice, and was recorded in the census as Geoffrey Gordon Sackett, aged one and born in Woodford.10
     In 1921 he was living at Oak Grove, Theydon Bois, EssexG, in the household of his parents Frank and Alice, and was recorded as Geoffrey Gordon Sackett, aged eleven.11
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Geoffrey was living at 3 & 5 Connaught Avenue, Frinton-on-Sea, EssexG, with his mother Alice. He was the manager of his mother's cafe.12
     Geoffrey and Margaret, with their daughter Mary, emigrated to Australia, departing London on 20 March 1952 on the liner Orcades, bound for Sydney, New South WalesG.13 Their last UK address was 26A Nelson Road, Hastings, SussexG.13
     Geoffrey and Margaret were listed on the electoral roll for Queensland from 1954. They were living at Upper Coomera, Gold Coast CityG. He was an engineer and Margaret was a storekeeper.14
