Edwin Gilbert Sackett, son of Moses Sacket and Maria Doane, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 18 November 1848.1,2 He married in say 1892, Anna "Annie" Dawson. She was born in New York StateG in October 1866.3
     In 1850 Edwin was living in WestfieldG in the household of his parents Moses and Maria, and was recorded in the census as Edwin Sacket, aged one and born in Massachusetts.4
     In 1860 he was living in WestfieldG in the household of his parents Moses and Maria, and was recorded as Edwin G Sacket, aged 11 and born in Massachusetts.5
     In 1900 he was living at Crescent City, Putnam County, FloridaG, and was recorded as Edwin Sackett, a grocer, head of household, aged 51 and born in Massachusetts. He owned his own house free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Annie, aged 33, and their children, Maria, 7, Charles, 5, Frances, 3, and Alice, aged two.6
     In 1910 Edwin was living in Crescent City, Putnam County, FloridaG, and was recorded in the census as Edward J Sackett, a drayman, head of household, aged 62 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his second wife Annie, 49, and their children, Anne, 17, Charles, 15, Alice, 13, William, 9, Marie, 6, and Cornelius, aged four.7
     In 1920 he was living at Cedar Avenue, Crescent City, Putnam County, FloridaG, and was recorded as Edwin G Sackett, farmer & grocer, head of household, aged 71. Living with him were his wife Annie, 55, and their children, Charles, 24, William, 18, Mary, 16, and Cornelus, aged 14.8

  2. Based on age it would appear that Moses G of the birth record and Edwin Gilbert of the censuses were the same. The birth record "Moses" may have been in error, or the parents may have changed the name to Edwin soon after.
