In 1930 Edward was living in Wasioja, Dodge County, MinnesotaG, and was recorded in the census as Edward L Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 47. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Beatrice, 48, and their children, Dorothy, 17, Joyce, 15, Eunice, 9, and Floyd, 22, with his wife Wanda, 19.3
