Elijah Gibson Sackett, son of Francis M Sackett and Ruth Sophia Sayer, was born in McLean County, IllinoisG, on 18 April 1858.1 He died aged 74 in Washington, KansasG, on 3 April 19331,2 and was buried at Washingon CemeteryG on 6 April 1933.3,2 He married in Adair County, IowaG, on 13 March 1884, Elizabeth Jane "Jennie" Murphy, daughter of R T Murphy and Martha Key.4 Elizabeth was born in Adair County, IowaG, on 6 November 18671 and died aged 93 in Washington, KansasG, on 23 February 1961.1
     In 1860 Elijah was living in Oldtown, McLean County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents Francis and Ruth, and was incorrectly recorded in the census as Eliza G Sacket, female, aged two and born in Illinois.5
     In 1870 he was living in Cheney's Grove, McLean County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents Francis and Ruth, and was recorded as Elijah Sackett, aged 12 and born in Illinois.6
     In 1880 he was living in Harrison, Adair County, IowaG, in the household of his parents Francis and Ruth, and was recorded as E G Sackett, a farmer, unmarried, aged 22 and born in Illinois.7
     In 1900 he was living in Webster, Woodward County, OklahomaG, and was recorded as Elijah G Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 42. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 32, and their daughter Martha, aged three.8
     In 1910 he was living in Washington, KansasG, and was recorded as Elijah G Sackett, a miller, head of household, aged 52. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 43, and their children, Martha, 13, Leodah, 5, James, 3, and John, aged one month.9
     In 1920 he was living at North B Street, Washington, KansasG, and was recorded as Elija G Sackett, a janitor at the Court House, head of household, aged 61. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 53, and their children, Ilah, 23, and Leodah, aged 15.10
     In 1930 he was living at East Burlington Street, Washington, KansasG, and was recorded as E G Sackett, a janitor in the Court House, head of household, aged 72. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 63, and their unmarried daughter Ilah, 33.11
