Leonard Mark Sackett, son of Henry "Harry" Sackett and Louisa Elizabeth Mathison, was born in Dagenham, EssexG, on 19 November 18981,2,3 and baptized there on 18 December 1898.4 He died aged 88 in the Barking & Dagenham registration districtG in May 19875,6 and was buried at Rippleside Cemetery, Barking, EssexG, on 12 May 1987.7 He married at West Ham, EssexG, in 1921, Agnes Elizabeth "Fairy" Bye, daughter of ___ Bye and ___ Baker.8,9 Agnes was born in West Ham, EssexG, on 6 May 1897.10,11 She died aged 78 in Havering, EssexG, in 197512,13 and was buried at Rippleside CemeteryG on 5 November 1975.13
In 1901 Leonard was living at 6 Rosedale Terrace, Rainham, EssexG, in the household of his parents Henry and Louisa, and was recorded in the census as Leonard Sackett, aged two, and born in Dagenham.14
In 1911 he was living at 6 Rosedale Terrace, RainhamG, in the household of his parents Henry and Louisa, and was recorded as Leonard Sackett, a schoolboy, aged 12 and born in Dagenham.15
In 1921 he was living at 1 Cecil Terrace, New Road, DagenhamG, in the household of his parents Henry and Louisa, and was recorded as Leonard Mark Sackett, a barge builder, aged 22.16
At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Leonard and Agnes were living at 5 Ripple Villas, Ripple Road, Dagenham, EssexG. Leonard was a foreman barge builder.17
