George S Sackett, son of Stephen Sackett and Rachel Barton, was born in New York StateG on 23 August 1841.1,2 He married Hannah Connors, daughter of Joanna ___. Hannah was born in New York StateG in about 1855.2
     In 1880 George was living at Washington, Dutchess County, New York StateG, and was recorded in the census as George Sackett, a laborer, head of household, aged 38. Living with him were his wife Hannah, 25, and their children, Stephen, 8, Rachael, 6, Cornelia, 4, George, 2, and Charles, aged two months. Hannah's widowed mother Joanna Connors, 65, was also in the household. George's uncle Artemus Sackett was living next door.3
