Ramon Dewey Torres Jr, son of Ramon Dewey Torres and Alma Waneta Scoles, was born in Mexico City, Cuauhtémoc Borough, Distrito Federal, MexicoG, on 19 March 1932.1 He died aged 78 in Milford, Caroline County, VirginiaG, on 25 February 2011 and was buried at Lakewood Cemetery, Bowling Green, Caroline CountyG.1 He married in Rockport, TexasG, on 12 February 1952, Virginia Anne Mundine, daughter of Elbert Mundine and Katherine Lucretia Simpson.
Ramon D. Torres Jr., 78 of Milford, died Friday February 25, 2011.
Born in Mexico City, he retired in 1970, after 20 years in the United States Navy Special Forces.
After the Navy, he had a career as Director of Maintenance with Sentara in Norfolk and then with Central Fidelity Banks.
He had been active in Scouting, volunteered with ESL and was an active member of Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church in Ladysmith.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Torres; three sons, Ramon Torres III and his wife Lisa of Tennessee, Christopher Torres and his wife Joan of Arizona and Anthony Torres and his fiancé Jennifer of Norfolk; five sister, Kathy Albin, Anna Herring, Ruth Hoese, Janine Stacy and Judy Reed all of Texas; a brother, Victor Torres of Texas; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cynthia Owens and Jennifer Torres.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday March 2nd at 2:00 PM in Wrights Chapel, with burial to follow in Lakewood Cemetery, Bowling Green.
