Katharyn Aurelia Sackett, daughter of Fred C Sackett and Caroline M "Carrie" Dorrance, was born in Albion, Calhoun County, MichiganG, on 26 December 1898.1,2,3 She died there aged 74 on 26 February 1973 and was buried at Riverside Cemetery, AlbionG.3 She married in AlbionG on 19 June 1918, Howell Louis Van Gorden, a druggist, son of Louis C Van Gorden and Belle C Howell.4 Howell was born in Eaton Rapids, Eaton County, MichiganG, on 7 April 1895.5 He died aged 61 in Quincy, Gadsden County, FloridaG, on 8 April 1956 and was buried at Riverside Cemetery, AlbionG.3
     In 1900 Katharyn was living at Ingham, Albion City, Calhoun County, MichiganG, in the household of her parents Fred and Carrie, and was recorded in the census as Cathern A Sackett, aged one and born in Michigan.6
     In 1930 she was living at Michigan Avenue, AlbionG, in the household of her husband Howell L Van Gorden, 35, a druggist, and was recorded as Catherine S Van Gorden, aged 33 and born in Michigan. Living with them were their children, Patricia, 11, and Dorotha, 8; and Catherine (Katharyn's) mother Carrie Sackett, 71.7
