Margaret Reeve Sackett, daughter of Augustine Sackett and Charlotte Georgiana Rice, was born in Lee, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, on 19 July 1880.1,2 She died aged 74 in Manhattan, New York CityG, on 7 February 1955 and was buried at Fairmount Cemetery, LeeG.3 She married in ManhattanG on 17 October 1907, George Frederick Miles, son of George Elmer Miles and Emma Niefen....4,5
In 1900 Margaret was living at Madison Avenue, New York CityG, in the household of her parents Augustine and Charlotte, and was recorded in the census as Margaret R Sackett, aged 19 and born in Massachusetts.6
In 1910 she was living at St Nicholas Avenue, ManhattanG, in the household of her husband George F Miles, 28, a civil engineer, and was recorded as Margaret S Miles, aged 29. Living with them were their son, George S, aged one, and George Sr's unmarried aunt, Sara Rice, 49.7
In 1920 she was living at St Nicholas Avenue, ManhattanG, in the household of her husband George, 38, president of a textiles company, and was recorded as Margaret Miles, aged 39. Living with them were their children, George, 11, and Sackett, aged 5, and George Sr's unmarried aunt, Sarah Rice, 58. There was also a female servant in the household.8
In 1930 she was living at Fifth Avenue, New York CityG, in the household of her husband George, 50, president of a financial company, and was recorded as Margaret Miles, aged 46 and born in New York. Living with them were their sons, George, 21, and Sackett, aged 14.9
Margaret visited England in 1939. She returned on the Queen Mary, arriving in New York on 9 March 1939. She was then living at 1158 Fifth Avenue, New York CityG.10
