George Sackett Miles, son of George Frederick Miles and Margaret Reeve Sackett, was born in New York CityG on 5 October 1908.1,2 He died aged 70 in ConnecticutG on 23 October 1978.3 He married in Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, New York CityG, on 5 October 1935, Josie Scarborough.4

In 1920 he was living at St Nicholas Avenue, ManhattanG, in the household of his parents George and Margaret, and was recorded as George S Miles, aged eleven.6
George visited Europe in 1928, returning to New York City from Antwerp, BelgiumG, on 9 September 1928 on the SS Lapland. He went with his aunt Edith Sackett and his brother Sackett Miles.7
In 1930 George was living at Fifth Avenue, New York CityG, in the household of his parents George and Margaret, and was recorded in the census as George S Miles, single, aged 21 and born in New York.8

Demarest—George Sackett Miles, an engineer with the Bendix Corp., before his retirement, died Monday in Connecticut. He was 70.
Mr. Miles was born in New York. He had moved to Demarest 27 years ago.
He graduated from City College of New York in 1931 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a member of the American Physical Society and the Society of Colonial Wars.
Surviving are two sons, David S. in Warren, Conn. and John A. in Danbury, Conn; a daughter, Nancy M. Bellanti in Duluth, Ga; a brother, Sackett B. of Eastchester, N.Y. and two grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Englewood. Burial will be at the family's convenience.
Contributions to the Dennis James Memorial Organ Fund of St Paul's Church would be appreciated.
