Elmer S Sackett, son of Erasmus Mason Sackett and Abigail Gates, was born in OhioG on 25 May 1859.1,2 He died aged 77 in Fitchville, Huron County, OhioG, on 27 April 19373 and was buried at Fitchville CemeteryG.4 He married on 26 December 1883, Sylvia Anna Rathburn, daughter of John W Rathburn.5,6 Sylvia was born on 1 May 1864.4,7 She died aged 88 in New London, Huron CountyG, on 24 January 19538 and was buried at Fitchville CemeteryG.4
In 1860 Elmer was living in Ruggles, Ashland County, OhioG, in the household of his parents Erasmus and Abigail, and was recorded in the census as Elmer S Sacket, aged one and born in Ohio.9
In 1870 he was living in Ruggles, Ashland County, OhioG, in the household of his parents Erasmus and Abigail, and was recorded as Elmore Sacket, aged eleven.10
In 1880 he was living in Clinton, Huron CountyG, and was recorded as Elmer S Sackett, aged 21. Living with him were his sister Gertie, 15, and their cousin Julia Sackett, 16.11
