Archer Clayton Ford, son of Simeon Dwight Ford and Malinda Tanner Sackett, was born in Washington, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 18 January 1860.1,2 He died aged 79 in Grants Pass, Josephine County, OregonG, on 10 October 1939.2 He married in Grants PassG on 2 February 1898, Nellie Ellen Hussey.2 Nellie was born in Eugene, Lane County, OregonG, on 25 September 18713 and died aged about 80 in Grants PassG in 1952.3
     In 1860 Archer was living in Washington, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Simeon and Malinda, and was recorded in the census as Arthur Ford, aged four months and born in Connecticut.4
     In 1870 he was living in Washington, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Simeon and Malinda, and was recorded as Archer C Ford, aged ten.5
     Archer is presumed to have attended a reunion of some thirty Sackett relations at his parents' home in Washington, ConnecticutG, on 13 August 1873.
     In 1880 he was living in Washington, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Simeon and Malinda, and was recorded as Archer Ford, aged 20.6
[Archer Ford] graduated in 1885 at Stoors Agricultural School, at Mansfield, Conn. After completing his course he decided to settle in the far west. He stopped for a time near Pine River, Colorado. From there he went to Eagle Pass, Idaho. After a short sojourn at latter place he went to Grants Pass, Oregon, and there engaged in farming and fruit growing.
